Nancy Spargo is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Sparlin Mental Health. She is a graduate of the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago and completed a post graduate clinical externship in Family Therapy at the Institute for Juvenile Research of the University of Illinois at Chicago. She excels at systems integration and program development for marginalized populations with a focus on trauma, using her thirty plus years of experience working with a range of human service organizations. Her career is characterized by a collaborative approach, innovative program design, quality service delivery, professional development, and advocacy.

Ms. Spargo promotes organizational growth and development through participation and leadership within multiple collaborations and networking groups in the St. Louis area. Much of her work centers on improving system integration, access to care, and delivery of services for organizations throughout the metropolitan area.

Ms. Spargo’s commitment to mitigating the impact of trauma and working to strengthen families as well as their communities has led her to serve a variety of clients, including immigrants and refugees, foster and adoptive families, as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender(LGBT) populations, and the homeless. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Spargo currently provides psychosocial evaluations and expert testimony within the federal court system for Latino individuals and families involved with the immigration system with the goal of supporting family permanency.

Passionate about professional development, Ms. Spargo provides expert training and consultation to organizations that are in process of becoming trauma informed, is an adjunct professor at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University, provides licensure supervision, and executive coaching.

She is the mother of four young adult children, lives with her partner, and father, who she has cared for over the past seven years. Outside of spending time with family, Ms. Spargo enjoys live music, the outdoors, and entertaining friends at home.
